We are wrapped(ish!) on Episode 304 and have started production on Episode 301. By the time New Year’s rolls around, we’ll have three episodes in the can(ish!).

Today, we were shooting in the bridge and the infirmary – while prep continued on Episode 302. AND we got a pizza truck!  While I was outside perusing the selections (Buffalo chicken = winner!) Liz from costumes approached me about something that was really bugging her.  Were we ever going to address that thing that happened at the end of Episode 304?  Puleeze!  It’s all part of the masterplan. When I told her about Episode 308, she was positively giddy.

  1. Yay, the new pup is on her way!!!

It must be tough to film episodes (and even scenes within a single episode) out of order. You’re reacting to things that haven’t happened yet.

You’re welcome – you put so much time into us, you deserve some time being put back into YOU! <3

    Kathy

  2. Seeing the pic of how the Ishida symbol is supposed to look had me checking my concept design of the Ishida Cruiser. Yay! I placed it correctly. 🙂

  3. Awwww. Sujie is so adorable! xo Cant wait.

Youre welcome Joe. We did it to say thanks for all you do and to show our love. <3 There were so many people involved in making this happen! Its taken nearly 2 yrs to accomplish!

I know Its alot to take in.
Rest assured any and all questions will be answered via email by end of the month.

Its all definitely very cool and the pups you rescue with the Maximus & Jelly Eleventh Hour fund will love you forever for it! XO

  4. Suji looks naked. She’s in desperate need of a makeover. 😉

Maggie L80: Check yesterday’s blog for a response. Hope all is well out East!

  5. @Ceresis posted response for you , @2cats and @pbmom at bottom of comments under yesterdays blog. 🙂

  6. Yay! Suji is on her way! 😃 Home soon 😉
And hurray – I guessed some of this blog will be in book, I mean of course. How could it not? We’ll have to mine it like gold. Because between all the Joe goodies and our comments, there is true gold here.

I will gladly buy those books!! Can I use Paypal?

Rain has finally ended after 2 days… wet leaves all over roads, very slick. But it helped assuage our drought.

Cannot believe we’re really into December already. Geez, the older you get, the faster time seems to flow. Or I have just been working too much!

  7. I hope you know without me saying that I consider any participation in the “blogiversary” stuff nothing but an honour, and I really enjoyed it. Like Drea mentioned, it’s small compensation for all the effort that you’ve put into this blog over the last 10 years. We’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

That’s so cool that Suji is arriving tomorrow! Wow, she looks very alert and curious there! I have a suspicion that Akemi already has some of Suji’s wardrobe picked out and on hand. I can’t wait to see more pics.

  8. @2cats yes, you will definitely be able to use paypal for reimbursement costs of the book + any donation you want to make into the Maximus & Jelly fund.

As much as I would love to include readers comments into the books
(although it would be technically legal to do so, because readers published their comments on a public site), the lawyers say too many hurdles to jump
and possible backlash from those not wanting to see their comments distributed wide in a printed book.

Also this book is intended as a gift of all Joe’s work and efforts.

The readers, however will indeed get to select the material they want the writing interns to put in each book.

  9. The Four Day CW Superhero Crossover event was AWESOME! That is how you use all your franchises in harmony. The big movie studios should take note.

  10. Hey and hello, Sujie!

I love the style of the kitchen apron, although I loathe the color pink. I actually wear aprons often, and in Japan I got into the habit of wearing one down to the store just like my neighbors did. You get weird looks for that in the States though.

  11. You had me at PIZZA! Congrats on the new food truck! Only 81 more days, surely you can survive on pizza for lunch for 2 1/2 months. Hope they have lots of selections.

Betty Crocker is in the house! Nice apron & mitts.

    B R U C E!

The playback meeting. I initially read “payback” meeting and was intrigued.

Liking the sketches. Does this mean there is a new GA Chief Inspector in town?

Suji is looking ready for a new home. Excited for you & Akemi, Bubba & Lulu!

  12. Aw. Can’t wait ‘to meet’ Suji! She’s such a little sweetie ….. Lovely picture of her. (She reminds me of a Christmas teddy for some reason!) Please give her a cuddle from me & Puddle 🐾 when she arrives!
Please give cuddles to Bubba n Lulu too – don’t want them to miss out! 😊

  13. Is it just me? …
… but I’ve noticed a distinct lack of our Raza crew members in your BTS/set photos … Any reason?

  14. Since Jozie is Costumes, I’m going to say the apron is for that crazy wacky Android. She does like to be different every now and then. Right?

  15. Syfy’s ratings are so bad these days. It’s sad for shows like Incorporated that premiered to a 0.15 18-49 rating. Aftermath, Van Helsing, and Channel Zero did mediocre too. It really says something when Dark Matter Season 2 did better in viewer numbers than most of Syfys line-up. I don’t care much for these other shows, but eh, come this time next year I have no doubt you’ll be posting about Season 4 on here Joe.

  16. Not surprised at your comment @Randomness!
P’raps if Syfy Channel stops carrying out their ridiculous watershed editing, they’ll get better viewing figures. They ruin the gems they have!

  17. @TheOtherOne

I would hate to say why Syfy is doing so poorly in the ratings. But it’s great for Dark Matter regardless. There’s like half a dozen renewed Syfy shows going into 2017 with less viewers than Dark Matter. Generally speaking the better performing shows will always be renewed.

  18. Agree with @KathyC’s & @Gforce’s and & @Drea’s comments.

@2cats Good to hear it helped the drought some.

Fantastic about the pizza truck. Better food helps those creative cells move better. And helps with the stamina you need to produce this show.

Suji is coming!!!! I can’t wait to hear about her transition to your home.

  19. @ Randomness, I think ratings are about access; there’s no reason NBC/Comcast can’t put Syfy on basic cable so that they reach more viewers. If a network has ads it doesn’t make sense to restrict viewing to premium cable. Comcast did away with that midrange standard cable and now has basic then a huge price jump for premium.

I buy DM season passes on Amazon but I’d love to subscribe to Syfy online like I can with Showtime and HBO. I’m now paying more for TV online than I would if I just upgraded cable, but I’m addicted to laptop watching.
