Damnit!  My Snow Monkeys are about to go down to defeat.  With 18 points to make up, my sole player tonight, Frank Gore, racked up 5.3 points in the first quarter alone! Then suffered an ouchy and took himself out of the game.  Thanks.  Thanks a lot, Frank.  With two more weeks to go in the season, that just about eliminates us from playoff contention.

Went into the office today to watch not one, not two, but THREE episodes of Stargate: Universe’s second season – a Day 1 Mix of Twin Destinies (Some fantastic visuals in this one), a Day 2 mix of Alliances (Both Ming-Na and Jamil are terrific), and Andy’s director’s cut of the season finale, Gauntlet (Those last two acts!  Wow!).  One more mix and one more day should do it for 2010…

  1. Great links. Didn’t realize pole dancing was a sport. I wouldn’t be surprised if it showed up at the Olympics next time around. It certainly would increase viewership.

Good luck tomorrow with Jelly. Oops, it’s after midnight, so for me, it is Tuesday, SGUesday, so it’s actually today. I cannot believe today will be the mid-season finale. And I hear it isn’t coming back until April. A desert. And my only source of water will come in the form of a greenlight for season 3.

  2. Since the ring teleportation is Ancient in origin will we see it or a variation of it in Destiny in the future?

LOL…well Ivon once told me that stripping was a sport if done right…too funny.

I don’t think you guys would get away with going to watch pole dancing….even if it was in the name of “journalism”.

    Cheers, Chev

  4. I lost my 3rd Fantasy Football game in a row and have slumped to 2nd last with a 4-8 record :((((

I had Frank Gore as well…I need to dump Dez Bryant something shocking..

    Chev

  5. Ya know that Oprah one? I fear that really isn’t too far from the truth. 😛 Oprah reminds me of this kid I knew in grade school. She ‘bought’ friends by bringing candy to the playground every day. Sure, she was popular, but only while that bad of goodies lasted.

Game of Thrones looks interesting…but…for some reason, Sean Bean sorta is a turn off for me. I think because he reminds me of my dad…I just imagine that he smells of mechanic’s grease every time I see him.

Oh, and Joey, that pole dancing competition includes male dancers, ya know. You really want to sit there – with another dude – watching some tattooed hunk of beefcake workin’ the pole?? 😕 Sure wouldn’t want this trip to turn into Brokeback Mount Fuji. 😉

    das

  6. Gore broke his hip and wanted to keep playing and you’re still giving him grief? Shmeesh… the nerve of the guy.

Question for the mailbag that may or may not have been already asked… What happens when you switch consciousness with someone of the opposite sex? Any chance we explore this in a future episode or is the series done with the ethical implications of the stones? Gratzi.

  7. So, Joe, have you contacted the concierge at your hotel in Tokyo to have him/her arrange tickets for the pole dancing finals?

I’m REALLLLLLLY looking forward to A Game of Thrones on HBO. I wish they would tell us when it will be broadcast.

Good luck with Jelly today. I hope the neurologist gives you both answers and solutions for her problems.

  8. This one time at Burning Man … no, really, this one time at Burning Man, a guy was walking around with a Free Mammograms sign around his neck, with a tray with scallops cut out for boobs. He thought it was clever, but really, it wasn’t. As we know, the dress code at the event is rather lax, as in, about ten percent of participants and nekkid and about half the women are topless. No one cares or stares after ten minutes. I walked up, fat old me in my chemise, and whipped the boobs into the tray. I’d had a needle biopsy just before we left home, so one of my breastessess was bruised… huge ugly vivid purple/blue/black bruise. The guy tried to back up, but my lady-bumpers draped over his signage held him near. He managed a quick and shaky peck of a kiss on the top of each boob, then wriggled free and ran away. Ha! I wish I had met the faux doc in a bar, I’d have had no problem whipping out my now-scarred girls right there in public and scared the pants off the guy/gal/whoever. Boobs is awesomely powerful! Even sad, flat aged mammaries are founts of wowza Huzzah!

  9. Hep Joe,

if sgu is canceled (I cross my finger for a season 3), shall we have a end ?

    Thanks you Joe.
    Kiss for Jelly !

  10. Someone has a gun to your head and there is nothing you can do to escape, your life depends on correctly predicting whether SGU will get a 3rd season – how do you reply?

  11. @ maggiemayday – 😆 You made my day, and probably scarred Major D. Davis for life! 😆

    das

  12. Why would people let someone do a breast exam in a bar of all places? Sheer stupidity if anything, you do that stuff in a hospital or a clinic, not through someone claiming to be a specialist in that area in a bar.

    Some people are just silly.

Anyway Joe, is there no way B.A.G can appear again in Season 3? Can’t his character appear in a flashback or something equally random? Sounds like the guy really wants to come back to SGU lol

  13. Hey Mr. M 🙂 I took a look at that strange package you found in your pantry the other day and attempted to translate the kanji on it. Here’s what I got.

Small kanji on the right side:
    木々の露
    kigi no tsuyu
    dew of every tree

    Large kanji:
    挽茶あられ
    ban cha arare
    ground tea cookies

Not sure if I’m totally right, but it sounds okay to me. Let me know if they really seem to be ‘ground tea cookies’! 🙂

  14. Joe I hope you had a good trip to Tokyo and second I for one only go to my OBGYN for my regular checkup which is what any woman should do. We as women need to investigate to make sure someone is a real doctor and make an appointment in their office for breast exame where any decent doctor will have his nurse in the exame room while he is examining. Some women are niave and do not know to do that and they need to be informed.

  15. My OBGYN is a woman. She is very well known here in Fayetteville. And respected and I did not just go to her. I asked around and my Family Doctor said she was good as well as others that is how I knew to go to her and have been going ever since. I changed to her from a male OBGYN.
