Today, I ate lunch at 6:30 p.m., but that’s what happens when crew call is at 12:30 p.m.  And it looks like we’re only halfway there.  Rumour has it we’ll be wrapping at 2:30 a.m. tonight which means we’ll probably be kicking things off at about 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.  With a few more production days under our belts, I feel we can push all the way back to our original starting time of 7:30 a.m. and come full circle!

On the home front, my poor boy’s condition appears to be worsening.  He coughed through most of the night, barely sleeping at all, and this morning didn’t have an appetite for his breakfast.

According to Akemi he slept most of the day and has yet to regain his appetite.

Akemi did manage to feed him a little but said he was very weak.  Sadly, I think we’re going to have to make the decision soon.

  1. Oh, poor dear Bubba. Precious boy, you are so well loved.
In the last photo, Suji seems to know something is wrong too, see her expression? Bless her heart, she’s so sweet with Bubba.

Thank you Akemi, for your loving care and beautiful heart. Bless you too!

    Praying for you all…

    Carol

  2. Awwwww I’m so sorry Joe I know this never gets easy, got you all in my prayers, hugs.

  3. Poor Bubba. But he has had a wonderful life so far. How many dogs have humans who make them home-cooked meals every day, not to mention a wardrobe that is surely the envy of canines the world over. I wish you all the best now.

  4. Oh, poor Bubba. My heart is just breaking for the little guy. Please give him a hug for me. And to yourselves as well.

Your schedule sounds almost like the TV production equivalent of crossing the International Date Line.

Just an update about my water issue – it was just a frozen water line out by the well head (that’s how cold it was out on the weekend). Plumber came and got it working within a couple of hours, so all is well.

  5. Thanks everyone, for the nice comments about Luna. Every day she’s a little more comfortable.

While I don’t think she was abused in the strictest sense of the word, she was definitely neglected. She initially didn’t seem to know what to do with affection. But with plenty of loves, hugs and kisses, she’s really turning into a love bug. A 70lb pit bull that thinks she’s a lap dog comes with its own challenges, but they’re the good kind.

  6. Challenges on the set that we really rarely realize are the wonky shooting schedules. How do you stay awake? Coffee, tea, Red Bull?

The various pods have my curiosity peaked. Go Melanie! On first glance I thought Steve was an extra for the episode…..love the coat!

My heart is saddened, wishing Bubba relief from is cough and his appetite back. I know he is surrounded by love. Praying for you all.

  7. And I thought my days were long. This week I’ve gotten home very late from pet sitting and too wound up to go to sleep so I’d be awake until 12:30-1:30 a.m. and then on Thursday morning I had to get up at 4:00 a.m. Patrick and I got the virus Jeff had earlier in the week and that didn’t help things. And then some intense family drama with my sister which had me on the phone for literally hours with her and my other sister.

<> I think Suji knew. You can see it in her eyes.
